Food for thought...

Let me first say that I am not the healthiest eater. I do like to eat fast food, but I don't eat it every day. And I certainly don't claim to be a good eater and then eat shit food. It is amazing the eating habits I see from my fellow co-workers.

Let's start with breakfast habits. Just like any normal workplace, coffee is everyone's first choice, but we do have our regular soda drinker- Coke, Diet Coke.
Then we have the "I am on a diet, so instead of dumping a canister of sugar in my coffee, I will just have a extra large McDonald's or Chick-Fil-A sweet tea with extra syrup on top" people, who if they didn't eat so much sugar, would probably be 5-10 pounds lighter.

One of my most faavvvoooorrriiitteeee breakfasts I have seen here at work- is what I call the Breakfast of Champions.

Coke and Snickers Bar or if she is feeling a little over weight, she may have a Sweet Tea and breakfast sandwich from McDonalds or Chick Fil A. I mean, I know that Snickers satisfies hunger, but come'on-- really?

If she did not have time to stop at a fast food joint, she may induldge herself with a "who knows how old" Honey Bun from the vending machine. And if the honey bun has almost reached its hardness-- well, nothing the microwave won't fix. All I can say to this is... Woof! Those honey buns are the only thing in the vending machine that never get switched out because well, they're gross. However, the Honey Bun did fufill its Honey Bun Destiny!

And if that doesn't get your taste buds going... maybe this will.
Brown Sugar and Cinnamon pop tarts toasted and while still warm spreading butter all over it. Why don't you just eat a tablespoon of sugar and take a bite from a stick of butter and smack on that?!

Please keep in mind this is the same person who comes in to the breakroom and says, "Ewwww! What are you eating?" (my pet peeve) and I nicely say... "Sushi."

Hmmm... Sushi or a Clogged Artery??

We also have the "I am on a diet" co workers who like to say they are going to eat better and well, fail. The "I am on a low carb diet" individual likes to eat rolled up leaves of lettuce and sandwich meat and then down it with a bag of pork rinds. FRIED FAT with spicy seasoning on TOP!!!

As the bag of bag falls from the vending machine, the 60 year old woman says in her baby voice "Ooohhhh I am going to be bad."

I admit it is hard to eat healthy when it is just so easy to pop in $.60 cents in and get bag of chips. Hell, I am guilty of it. There are just some eating habits that are just not my style or maybe these people just really annoy the shit out of me. It's a little bit of both.

  3. Ugh, this one overweight woman used to always make comments to me, "I don't know how you stay so skinny! All you do is eat!" Um yeah, lady, I eat all day long, but the total calories of my carrots, and hummus, soup, fruit etc, is less than the half a pizza you ate for lunch! Ugh. She would say "I'm not snacking- that's how you lose weight!". Um, no. Not eating crap is how you lose weight.
